Inspired out?

I read an article today about the prevalence of inspirational quotes on social media, on boards outside cafes, and pretty much everywhere you turn.  The writer of the piece questioned whether these aphorisms actually help, or just distract from the reality of our situation in life.  As someone who shares such motivational quotes everyday on her Facebook and Twitter pages, I understand their cynicism, to an extent.  Some of these supposed nuggets of wisdom come across as clichéd sugar lumps, which do nothing more than make the medicine of life easier to swallow.  Yet, they can also be just the quick boost we need, the amusing reminder that we can get through this bad day, and any others which come our way in life.  To quote another over-used phrase; all things in moderation, including inspiration! 🙂
